Community Development NWA (formerly known as Community Development Corporation of Bentonville/Bella Vista) provides needed nonprofit development expertise in Northwest Arkansas. We grew from a Bentonville/Bella Vista Chamber of Commerce housing initiative into a private, nonprofit corporation in 1991.

To create and maintain affordable housing, we have used funding tools like the Section 42 Tax Credit, the HOME Investment Partnerships Program, HUD Section 202, USDA Rural Development, and private programs.

Our development types include independent senior housing, assisted living housing, affordable family housing, and demonstration projects. We also administer tenant rental assistance programs. Management income sustains our operations, but we do fundraise to support our Havenwood and Assisted Living service programs.

Recent projects include the Brightwater Culinary School, and an ADU demonstration project funded by a Design Excellence Grant from the Walton Family Foundation. Other multi-family efforts are in pre-development.
